We have really enjoying our part in this amazing project!

Funded from the Big Lottery Fund's Local Food Programme

We worked closely with Kay and Sally of the Yorkshire Food Discovery programme to deliver the cookery strand of this exciting project into 18 urban schools in Yorkshire.

By sharing our skills and knowledge of home grown and seasonal food with the staff and children we helped to develop their cookery skills, enthusiasm and the confidence to have a go at home and make their own delicious local, seasonal food.

The children enjoyed the preparation, cooking and tasting of the seasonal recipes we adapted and developed for this project, many of the ingredients were unfamiliar to the children, but they were keen to learn and tried and tasted the food.....almost always with enthusiasm!

The children enjoyed telling us about their farm visits as part of the project and about the Yorkshire Food Discovery sessions and together we are able to make links with seasonal and local food growing in their school and local community.

This amazing project has now finished, but we are still able to offer the sessions to both urban and rural schools, we find it works well as an enterprise project for your class - please get in touch to learn about growing and cooking in your school.

Sharing our enthusiasm for local,

seasonal food..........
